"M. A."
If you answer yes to one
or more of the following questions, you need to become a member of
the ["The Temptations"] Miniseries-aholics
Anonymous.
Help is just a
click away. Do you have the entire script memorized?
Do you find
yourself using lines from the movie as a part of your
daily conversation? ("What’s with the 3rd
degree? Don’t y’all trust me?)
Do you begin to
annoy people with all the bloopers you find in the
movie? (Applies to Ivory Fair only)
While watching
Madonna’s "Like a Prayer" Video, do you say to yourself,
"I never realized David Ruffin was in this
video."
Does your VCR spit
out the tape and say, "No! I can’t take any
more!"
Do you have dreams
about the Temptations? In your dreams, are the
Temptations the real thing, or the movie
versions?
Do you act out
scenes from the movie with your cat/dog/Japanese
Fire-bellied newt/mother/fellow BBS posters?
Do the posters on
the IMusic Temptations BBS politely ask you to leave the
BBS because you are talking about the movie too
much?
Do the posters of
the IMusic Temptations BBS curse at you and demand that
you to leave the BBS because you are talking about the
movie too much?
Do any of the
actors who portrayed the "Big 5" have a file about you
with the heading "Potential Stalker." Are the police
watching you?
Do you, after
seeing a photo of the real Temptations, say "They don’t
look anything like the Temptations!"
This past New
Year’s ever, did you immediately start singing "Shout!"
right after "Auld Lang Sine" and then wonder why
everyone else didn’t join in?
When you hear the
names Ron Tyson, Terry Weeks, Harry McGillberry, and
Barrington Henderson do you ask yourself, "Who are they?
They weren’t in the movie."
When you read
Otis’ book and find things that do not match the movie’s
account, do you scream out loud "Otis, that’s not the
way it happened!"
When you listen to
the original version of "Come On," by the Distants, do
you strain so you can hear the toilet
flushing?
Do you watch the
miniseries during your every waking hour?
If you answered
yes to one or more of the above questions then
congratulations, you are a Miniseries-aholic! While
